Blu-ray movies to come with DVD copy

More film company launched in Blu-ray films with a DVD included, a recent report Video Business said.

The article mentions that The Princess Bride, the T2 Complete Collector's Set and the considerably less cool Marley & Me will be getting this treatment, and that Disney is planning on releasing seven Blu-ray & DVD packages this year. Although some Blu-ray films include digital copies and enable you to copy to a computer, a movie is compatible with the standard DVD in more places.

This is a clever action for studios, as one of the biggest drawbacks is to buy Blu-ray films is in lack of portability. Since Blu-ray discs can only play on the player that support Blu-ray, you can't watch your new films in your bedroom or cars, airplanes, or in any other places where you only have a DVD player.

The packaged combos may also make the relatively high cost of Blu-ray movies easier to swallow, if consumers feel like they're getting more for their money, with both discs included.

Will a standard DVD make it easier for you to accept Blu-ray movies? Blu-ray is too expensive, isn't it, even if these extra? Or you are waiting for portable Blu-ray players like the Panasonic DMP-B15? Let us know in the comments.

Will an included standard DVD makes you more likely to buy Blu-ray movies? Is Blu-ray still just too expensive, even with the extras? Or are you waiting for portable Blu-ray players, like the Panasonic DMP-B15? Let us know in the comments.
